Effect of Different Arsenic and Biochar Levels on Soil Microbial Population and Enzymatic Activity

Arsenic (As) poses a pervasive environmental contamination problem on global scale. Human activities have significantly contributed to the extensive presence of arsenic in soils. Recently, there has been growing interest exploring potential biochar addressing issue As-contaminated This study focused evaluating effects two types biochar, namely straw and iron-modified composition soil microbial communities enzymatic activity contaminated with arsenic. After conducting pot experiment for duration 9 months, were analyzed. Biochar refers carbon-rich porous solids that are produced by heating biomasses under low oxygen conditions. These biochars regarded as environmentally friendly sorbents can be employed treatment different contamination. The increased abundance populations enhanced properties suggest fosters richness diversity bacterial communities.
